Is machined area color busted?

Post by fredfow3 »

Hey all,

Is it me doing something wrong, but "machined area color" will only show up as the material color. I can not seem to get anything else. Am I missing a trick?

Aspire 9.010

TIA,

Fred

seems to be working OK for me Fred, global & toolpath colour, don't know if you have missed a setting somewhere but if it wasn't working then I would have thought there would be a lot more posts about it, 9.010 has been the latest version since August 16th

There have been a couple of posts about it but, like Martin, I could never replicate it. It might be only affecting certain setups or requires a certain combination of events.

I had this problem and contacted Vectric. Here's their answer:

"Hello Michael.

Is this an older file that you opened in the latest version by any chance.

This was an issue in an older version of V9.0 that has since been resolved.
In this file it should work if you recalculate all toolpaths to renew the colour data and then reset the toolpath preview and re run it for the expected results.

I hope this helps

Best Regards
Charlotte"

In Aspire 9.x I've given up trying to figure out the color and material setting. I never know what is going to display the first time I run Preview Toolpath. Even after setting it to what I want sometimes when I make changes to a toolpath and rerun Preview it reverts back to old unwanted settings. Yes it's a pain, but not something I can't live with.....

Yah, it seems to have a mind of it's own. As you said, it's not a game changer.

Try 2-Sided Machining and put 2 different "Woods" on each side... ;)
I have had All sorts of strangeness with the most recent update.
