Any one have a tip on how to engrave a name on
a round handle. The diameter is 3/8" and the customer
wants their name on it.
It works but the larger letters (Caps) start losing depth.
I have adjusted the start depth a little which improves it.
Thanks for any help!

In the tool path check the box to 'project toolpath onto 3d model'

Re: V Carving on a round handle
You will have to create a model of the handle to use the suggested "map to 3D model" feature.

Thanks guys. I will dig in to and learn yet another feature
of this wonderful software.

Re: V Carving on a round handle
To do this in the best way possible you would want to use a rotary axis with a 3D model of the handle in a rotary setup job and then "Apply Toolpath to 3D Model" as an option on a vcarve toolpath.

Re: V Carving on a round handle
You don't need the "Apply to 3D model" step if you are using the wrapping strategy with a rotary axis. You don't even need a 3D model if the handle is a simple cylinder shape. The rotation will take care of cutting the letters evenly around the shape.

Re: V Carving on a round handle
4d is correct. I had a brain fart thinking the handle was tapered
