Re: Adding to previous model?
Kathy,
What do you want to do with the text? Vcarve it into the bar or have it stand proud?
I'd move the bar down just a bit.

Re: Adding to previous model?
The more I think on it stand proud would be nicer. I am putting a Roland Vinyl in the for the center text.
That was a good thought. Thank You.
Have you ever been to the omak Stampede and Suicide race? Not sure where you are. The world gets so small with internet.
Thanks again Kathy

Re: Adding to previous model?
OK going with the raised text.
I'd still move the bar down a bit.
Kern the text using the "Edit Text Spacing and Curve" to move the letters apart a bit more, so a 1/16" bit can fit between the letters.
Highlight the text then click the "Model" tab. Click the "Create Shape from Vectors" under "Modeling tools".
These are the setting I used on your project.

Re: Adding to previous model?
Is there a way to set the kerning in the beginning or do you just have to do each letter individulally?
And where do you reside., just out of curiousity
Thanks Kathy

Sorry, you have to kern each letter.oldlogtrucker wrote:Is there a way to set the kerning in the beginning or do you just have to do each letter individulally?
Just a note: If you curve text then change the text you have to start over with kerning.
Not sure what you're asking.oldlogtrucker wrote: And where do you reside., just out of curiousity

Re: Adding to previous model?
To move the letters a bit apart do you have to click on each letter individually or is there a set up that you can create the letters spaced as you want?
Hope this makes more sense?/

Kathy, you made me think about this just a little bit. Thanks for making me think....
Yes there is a way to automatically "space" (not kerning per say) a line of text.
Create the line of text as usual.
Next draw a horizontal line the length you want your text to span.
Select both the text and line.
Using the "Text on a Curve" option, now you have control over the spacing.

Re: Adding to previous model?
No raised lettering. It failed so I covered it. For me every project has fixes.
Thanks again to everyone for all the suggestions and help.

Re: Adding to previous model?
What do you mean when you say it failed ? Great when you have work rounds or can make alterations to a project rather than start again but what about your next project ? If you know why it failed then you won't do the same thing againoldlogtrucker wrote:No raised lettering. It failed so I covered it. For me every project has fixes.
