Post Processor for PhotoVcarve
Whats the process for adding the PP to photovcarve. I am using the tinyg. I know the process
for 2dcut, etc. But seems to be no directory in the data app. Searching gave no good results.
Thanks.

Re: Post Processor for PhotoVcarve
PhotoVCarve is a bit more awkward as it's a lot older program that pre-dates the latest Windows security features.
You need to go to the Program Files folder for PhotoVCarve and put the post proccesor in the PostP folder there. You will need administrator privilege to do that.

Re: Post Processor for PhotoVcarve
Adrian,
I did drill down to the /Programs....PhotoVcarve./../PostP. Then copied it over as adminstrator (I have the admin access). Then copied the TinyGmm and inch over from the 2dcut directory.
I quit both programs and restarted it eariler and it still did not show up. I even check the security permissions on the files comparing it to another.
I should not need to reboot???
I am running windows 10.

Re: Post Processor for PhotoVcarve
It will be mirrored to the Virtual Store within Windows in that case. If there is a file of the same name in there it will take precedence over the one in the Program Files directory.
Look for it in "C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Local\VirtualStore" and try replacing it there.

Re: Post Processor for PhotoVcarve
There should be a PostP folder in there. It's there it goes rather than the Exec folder. Basically the same place as the Program Files folder.
If the PostP folder is not in the VirtualStore it should be picking it up from the PostP folder in Program Files folder initially. Make sure you restart PhotoVCarve after putting the new post processor in there so it's picked up.
If you've got Cut2D, VCarve or Aspire you could import the project there and not bother with post processor updates in PhotoVCarve.

There is no PostP in the Virtual Store PhotoVcarve directory. In the Exec only a defaults and toolDatabase dirs
I killed photoVcarve and even rebooted.

Re: Post Processor for PhotoVcarve
Then it hasn't been picked up by the UAC so placing the post processor in the Program Files (x86)\PhotoVCarve\PostP folder and restarting should work. Make sure that you're aware of the name of the post processor so you can find it in the list. The name isn't the same as the file name. You can see the name by editing the post processor and looking at the top of the file.

Re: Post Processor for PhotoVcarve
I decided to uninstall the photovcarve app using the unist programe in the photovcarve dir
rebooted
Reinstall
placed TinyG_inch.pp and tinyG_mm.pp in the c:/programx86/photocave/postp directory.
Now on start up it complains on these 2 files.
VAR ARC_CENTRE_I_INC_POSITION = [i|A|i|1.4]
I Checked the post name in the file which is set to TinyG
rebooted

Re: Post Processor for PhotoVcarve
That isn't a PhotoVCarve post processor. It's either a VCarve or Aspire one. PhotoVCarve doesn't support ARC commands which is why you're getting the error. You'll need to edit the post processor to remove the ARC sections. There might be other issues as well.

Re: Post Processor for PhotoVcarve
No idea. Presumably there's a support site for it?

Re: Post Processor for PhotoVcarve
Removing the ARC lines just the beginning of the issues... not fully understanding the PP myself is just getting messy.
I have not had luck with a PP for photovcarve on their site. We see what their support says monday

Try these. I've edited them to remove unsupported sections.
