Hi,
I would like to create a letter/number using cut2d connecting the outer part / inner part of the letter (when using a laser machine)
is there a specific font which includes this feature? or is there another way to simply connect the letter?
im planning to export the file in a dxf format for a laser cutting machine
thanks in advance!

If you are talking about the Inside of letters like 'P' then I would suggest inserting tabs in your toolpath.
It would be the same no matter what font you use.

Hi,
Ok thanks for your reply, which post processor would be best to export the file? i am currently just exporting the drawing in a DXF format and inputting into my laser programme (Lasercut5.3) but that does not include the tabs
thanks in advance for any help!

What Post Processor does the manufacturer recommend (if that is even necessary for your laser system)? You mentioned exporting just the dxf for your Lasercut software. Is this all you need to do and the Lasercut software takes care of creating the code to run your laser?

Hi,
Yeah but when i export the dxf file the tabs are not included, the tabs are only avaliable when you create a toolpath.
Im not sure how to import the toolpath file into the programme (lasercut5.3)
Is there anyway to add the tabs to the drawing (not through the toolpath)?
thanks!

If you are just using .dxf vectors, you could node edit parts of the lines to make solid tabs.
Below is probably an easier way.

the circle Idea is fantastic.Mike-S wrote:If you are just using .dxf vectors, you could node edit parts of the lines to make solid tabs.

I will use this, when I get my laser attachment.
