Hello,
I am designing a faom cutout for some tools.
The total height of the foam is 50mm and it's made out of 2 layers of 25mm.
I would like to do the design in one drawing and then slice it into 2 layers (or should I say toolpaths).
The design is done in Vcarve Desktop.
Is this possible ?

You can use layers. Place the vectors for one toolpath on one layer, and place the vectors for the second toolpath on another layer. I often use different colors for each layer to make it easier to keep track. You can copy vectors from one layer to another as required.

That is a possibility that I can use.
Just to make sure I understand:
In this case I can use 25 mm thickness and work with the different layers to design items that go through both layers and other items that are only inserted in the top layer.
Thus creating tool paths for the different foams eg. bottom + filler + top layer.
We also have higher cases where I will need to use up to 4 or more layers of foam.
Would you still recommend the same method for this ?
OR could I design this in one block of eg. 125 mm and then slice it like with a 3D model ?
Don't know if it's possible of course.
