Something for me

Post by COWBOY1296 »

I dont get to cut something for me that often. I am a pig when it comes to wasting wood, especially black walnut. This was cut from scraps and will go on my nightstand, because the mantle is full of stuff. Its 20 inches long by 14 inches tall and 3.4 inches thick and weighs close to 15 lbs. Its not really finished yet but not a lot will change. I used aspire 8.5 and 3 3-d components to design it.

Nice clock. You have to do something for yourself every now and then or you get bored.
The walnut really makes for beautiful mantle clock and really does well with sounds if your clock has them.

Same here only have one regulator that chimes on the hour now. All the rest were quieted by the wife. She thought she was going crazy one half hour at a time.

Nice looking clock. Well done!

At 15lbs I hope it doesn't fall off the night stand. LOL...

i did not weigh it but am only judging it by the strain it puts me in. but it is solid black walnut and a little glue. Trust me if it should fall on my neeeeked toe yall will hear me scream no matter where you are at.

Very nice work. I have over 24 clocks most of which I have made. My wife and I stopped at a clock museum one day just before noon and the lady there said “you’re just in time to hear them when they chime the most.” After things had quieted down the lady looked at my wife and said “what did you think?” My wife said “just like home.”

Thats funny. I guess that i am somewhat into clocks. I have a God Father clock (Grand father) which is another story and one mantle clock, that chimes. I have a replica school clock, a replica large 50's alarm clock and two that i have made that dont chime. Here is the other wall clock that i made.

Nice and amazing detail. I was just given a gramdmother clock that isn't working that I have some rebuild plans for as the outside is pretty rough.

I forgot the antique mantle clock that i have. When i first inherited it, i did not think that it ran so i sprayed it down with wd-40 and being from the south i figured duct tape would help but never used it. The wd-40 got it back into running order. But its chime is more like someone using a hammer on a cast iron skillet. Buts it more to look at and i never wind it up.
