Coat Of Arms - "Aspire"-ing to improve all the time
Rhodesian Teak with Gold leaf and Antiquing gilding paste.
The model build was a lovely challenge. Still lots of room for improvement though!!
Hope it gives someone "Aspire"-ations!
Cheers Kevin

What is the overall size of this. You used a 20 deg V bit. At what depth. How long did it take. It is very nice.

I like heraldry also. You inspired me to try one. I will be doing it soon. Funny I came up with about the same size as you. 16"x20". I am showing running time at about 16 hours. Lets see what I get.
You need to increase the feeds and speeds of your hand finishing. jk LoL

Would you please post the aspire code used to make this project. I would like to try this and would use your Aspire code as a starting point. I have done smaller similar things in the past but my carving times were much longer, as much as 18 hours, so you must have a better mastery of Aspire than I do.

I like very much your beautiful artwork, congratulation. But less then 7 hours of carving with a Vgroove 20 degree with all your components and a maximum depth of 15mm it impossible for me to do that. I would like your secret. I had done a simulation of a part of your work(without florish and helmet) and it took more then 8:30 hours:
Just to groove witn a end mill .25 F:100 Pl:30 stepover 25% Pocket 1
07:16:21
Banner 3D Finish 1
00:18:41
Lion 3D Finish 2
00:55:44
I like that kind of work but I spent a lot more time. 99% of my artwork are only for gifts but it's not a raison to take a lot more time to do it.
I wonder where you purchased your Vbit because I have many, but it is not robust enough to make cuts up to 15 mm.
I hope receive some information and hints. Excuse me for my English I am a french Canadian and I need more practice to write better.

Thanks
Overall roughing was first done with a 6mm ballnose 6mm per pass with 2mm tolerance,
and the the 3d finishing is done wit 20deg vbit with a 0,1mm stepover at 24000rpm 6kw spindle at 5000mm/min
