keyboard Shortcuts

Post by eagle-for »

Hi All
I am new to Vectric have been doing my homework with the videos. See where they talk about shortcuts on the keyboard like F10, F11, D etc. I use a photography software that uses a similar thing (they are different) was wondering if there is a chart or a listing of the shortcuts that I could obtain?
thanks
ernie

Go to the Aspire Help Menu, click on Help Contents. That will load the PDF documentation file and if you go to the end of that the shortcut keys are on the last couple of pages.

It is in the last 3 pages of the help file found by going to Help/Help Contents and going to the Short-Cut Keys bookmark on the left hand pane

I hate shortcut keys

There should be some sort of standard where they all have to do the same thing, when you use a few different software products you always end up pressing the wrong key. Well I do anyway, perhaps it's just me

I have all the ones I use regularly programmed into my multiple button mouse which knows which program I am using so uses the correct version of the shortcut key. I used to do the same thing with a separate programmable keypad but the mouse I have now has 24 buttons which is more than enough.

I didn't realise you could do that, my son has a gaming mouse with millions of programmable buttons ( ok a lot). I never realised they had other uses outside of gaming

Will have to look into that Thanks Adrian

Would be nice if you could customize the hotkeys and add new ones. "Draw Line" would be nice to have one...

I also agree with adding support for customisable shortcuts.

They are very useful.

I'd kill for shortcuts for:
- Line
- Weld
- Subtract A from B
- Subtract A from B without deleting A

I'd also love it if VCarve paths had an option not to "double back" on themselves. They always cut both directions, and it's a waste of time when doing a big file.

Amen to that.

I wish I could reprogram pan and rotate functions to match my other design programs. I have a Logitech trackball, and I do have some application-specific customization, but it won't let me reprogram the left, right, or middle mouse buttons, just the back and forward buttons I'm able to program a custom function to.

Vectric, please allow users to customize mouse clicks...

Seems like the issue there is the trackball software. My gaming mouse will let me program any button to do anything including running macros. It's rare (I cannot think of any I use) to find programs that allow the mouse click functions to be customised.

What would you want to change them to out of interest? I thought the buttons themselves were pretty standard and it's the modifier keys that tend to change from application to application.

90% of the time, I'm using Rhinoceros3D, and pan is set to right click instead of the middle mouse button. That's the main one that I use all the time between the two programs, it drives me insane as I'm constantly hitting the wrong buttons. No deal-breaker or anything, just really frustrating. There's other small little stuff, but that's the main thing that I'd change.
