Steampunk meets Frankenstein
Scrollsaw Woodworking magazine's Gizmos & Gadgets is "Must Have" literature...
In the latest issue they published plans for a Frankenstein style switch plate cover.
I don't even have a suitable switch for this cover in my shop, but I'm going to install one someplace there!
The next step is to make one with different hardwoods. ...Bob

Yes, I saw that one, unfortunately that kind of switches are banned here, we have to have Switches like these.
Flattish rocker ones, not toggles like yours.

I have some Modern Masters paint with rust activator that would look cool on that.
I bet it could be modified to turn on my new CNC machine
Thanks for the post

Re: Steampunk meets Frankenstein
It looks like the lower shaft will make about a half revolution when the switch is moved. I think I will add an ON/OFF sign to it that flips as the handle is moved.
Waiting for the magazine to arrive.

There's a sliding panel that would cover-uncover the on and off engravings. Good idea Mike, I'll use it on the next one.

Re: Steampunk meets Frankenstein
I just imported a laser cutter from China that has that style plug- is that 220v or 110v? I had never seen it before- looks like a miniature of our 220v plugs. The laser is 220v BTW.Ms Wolffie wrote:Yes, I saw that one, unfortunately that kind of switches are banned here, we have to have Switches like these.

Yikes!
Twice as Sinister.
I like the pockets on the sides and brass and hardwoods and the gang (although I have no idea of how that one operates).

There are 4 combined gear/cams. If you look carefully at the upper left and lower right ones, near the center of the assembly, you can see the cam extensions that depress the switch when they are rotated down.Bob Jr wrote:Yikes!
