Corian pic with acrylic

Post by tonydude919 »

This is a 1/4" corian litho carved and placed in a piece of 3/8" acrylic. Used a remote control led strip in base.

Nice concept, never thought of that.

did you route a recess for the corian or just glue it on ?

I did a pocket in the acrylic 1/16" deep. I just press fit the corian in the acrylic. The corian pic is 3-3/4" round.

Nice, fit underlap can barely be seen. I know its tough to get a perfect inlay into acrylic, especially with a semi fragile material like corian where pounding it in is not an option.

This is something I will put on my agenda, thanks for the idea.

Maybe a dumb question but after cutting the 1/16 pocket you polished it first, then pressed the litho in?
