Log Cabin box

Here's a Log Cabin box I designed for a gift. It's made of pine I reclaimed from a bed frame, and Yucatan Rosewood (Chimney). Used two rail sweeps for the logs. The roof I used a bark texture over random sized shingles which I then shuffled up so the texture pattern wouldn't be apparent giving the effect of an aged roof. I cut the box joints on end and rounded the back of the logs at the same time. Fun project.

Hi, sorry for not responding sooner. Last time I checked this post was almost on page 2, lol.

Unfortunately I don't have pics of the entire process. So this is just one of the panels and a better shot of the roof.

The process after cutting the walls was to then cut the edges by hanging them off the edge of my table vertically. Modified simple box joint really, plus curving the backs of the formed "logs". Next design and cut the roof gables. The roof panels are just a bunch of randomly sized rectangles tilted up after a bark pattern was applied. Made about 10 different ones then copied, pasted them in random pattern, stretching a few and shrinking others to fit.

Then just glued everything together.
