Hmm I don't have any clock answer .. but looking at yours I am thinking your hands ie hour min, second hands should all be arrows with the point going into the sweet spot you drilled the hole for movement at or mayne kinda make bullseye out of the connection points ( of the hands with tip going in center ... Just m2c first thing that poped into my head when I noticed movement placement :)

Where do you purchase your clock parts?
Do you recess the guts into the back of the clock face or do you let it surface mount?

How are yall laying out the numbers on the face. Are you getting them close or actually measuring them?

You don't have to measure them. It's a 360 degree circle, divided by twelve. The software will do it all for you.

I'm using xcarve pro. I understand what you are talking about how do I get The software to calculate it? Please bear with me, this will be my first clock. Thanks

A slightly different method of locating the numbers:
Draw a circle of the diameter and location where you want the centers of the numbers to be located.
Use the text tool to create any character (I use the number 1 for convenience). It can be placed anywhere, but preferably not on the circle .
Select the character and the circle (in that order).
Use the Copy Along Vectors tool to create 12 copies of the text around the circle.
Open the Draw Text tool and select and edit each character to the correct number.

Rotate each number in increments of 30 degrees if desired. But do this after the numbers are edited, since any time you edit text using the Draw Text tool, the text reverts to the original orientation (and spacing if kerned).
Good judgement comes from experience.
Experience comes from bad judgement.

I've carved a lot of 3D clocks and all of them have the mechanics recessed on the back. The hardest part is calculating the length of stem on the clock you'll need which is why I keep an assortment of them. Other wise you have to change the depth of your cut on either side.
