George Washington Would Be Proud

Post by W3LMR »

My Church that my family and I attend is celebrating over 300 years of History. One of George Washington's Generals -General Francis Nash -wounded from a battle nearby is buried in the cemetery there-Towamencin Mennonite Church-Kulpsville, PA A large oak tree fell there with over 300 growth year rings. George Washington along with 11,000 soldiers attended the funeral there. This large oak was only about 50 years old when General Washington stood under it's shade. We had the lumber milled into 15" wide slabs. Below are two of the Dutch Country Clocks from the Vectric Web Site that I made for the youth auction this coming Saturday evening. It was such an honor to be working with wood with such great history. The only change I made was when I zeroed the machined-I set the bit .004" deeper to give the cuts a more depth look.
