Very nice work!
Made me laugh this morning, thinking back to when I first decided to get into using a CNC. I wanted to make clocks like this on my machine instead of cutting them by hand! I have all kinds of vector files draw up, bought all kinds of books on the subject and even learned to design my own clocks... Still haven't completed one! All the other fun stuff I discovered I could do with the machine has distracted me! ADHD maybe?

That clock is super sweet. Haven't had much time over a very cold winter here in west Michigan to use the CNC in my garage shop. But getting better after hip surgeries and want to explore my Shopbot a lot this summer. And with summer I can finish on my cardtable in the drive soaking in the sun and a cool beverage.

I don't know where to go to purchase plans for CNC clocks. I am a newbie so I doubt I would want to attempt a clock quite this intricate. Does anyone have a source for good plans that fit well with normal finishing and sanding AND might be considered to be starter plans for the newbie. Yes, all of the cuts were done on my CNC. This was a very interesting project. Just cutting and assembling isn't enough for this project. You have to study the plans enough to understand how the clock works.

I must agree with Mike, I have plans, books, clock parts, etc dating back at least 20-years and I still haven't made one [too many other interesting things to make]. In addition to CNC I have a laser engraver that can cut many of the parts... perhaps this will be the year of the clock.

I've made lots of clocks [mostly whimsical] but they are made for clock inserts including Michael Tyler's Tuscan Grape Clock

I purchased the Simplicity clock dxf. Plan to cut with my Axiom 2' x 4'. I must say the Simplicity project doesn't come with simple instructions. More like no instructions.

I received 2 dxf files. One with 19 pages plus some variant parts. The other file has some parts but not all parts.

Any info would be helpful.

I purchased Claytons Simplicity plans before dxf's were available. They were originally sold for scroll sawing, with true size drawings, meant to be traced.

The instructions were extensive and very good.

Did you get your files directly from Clayton? If not, you might be missing the instructions.
I know he was staring to release some dxf's with with some of his projects over the last few years.
