TV Rack

Post by Jibber »

I am reading on the vectric forum for quite a long time and I thougt it was time to give something back to the community. :)

Initially I built my CNC router to help me build kiteboards. My machine uses mostly parts from "cncrouterparts" but was adapted to metric extrusions to save on shipping costs. In the last months I did some funiture projects. So far the TV rack is my masterpiece. 8)

The front was designed in Sketchup, then "disassembled" to a flat DXF file. Fine tuning of the parts and toolpath were created in VCarve Pro. This was the first project on VCarve Pro (used Cut2D before) and I really like the drafting features.

The front was CNC cut and then all parts were glued together. The other parts are connected with "Lamello Clamex S" for easy disassembly.

I hope you like it as much as I do

Where did you get the door hinge?

Thanks for all the compliments! :o 8)

I used the following hinge: http://www.peka-system.ch/index.cfm?rub=129

I don't know the english translation, something like "swing-up-hinge". It is used for kichen cabinets. It's important to keep an eye on the lifting force.
