Farm Sign Fun

Post by Doug Haffner »

I have a good friend who brought his heavy equipment when I bought my new shop.
We spent several days hauling dirt, brick and debris with his tractor and dump truck.
This was the least I could do!

Toolpaths all modeled in Aspire, other than additional sculpting work on the tractor
using Magic Sculpt epoxy.

Beautiful sign!
The details in the paint scheme really set it off.

Doug, absolutely beautiful work, and very "classy", might I add.

I do have a question for you as I do not have Aspire. May I ask why you use the Magic Sculpt epoxy instead of just carving it completely using Aspire? Is it just that you're more comfortable making details with that medium rather than designing it in Aspire, or did you do something on the sign that was not possible with Aspire?

Thanks so much as I'm just trying to understand and learn a bit more-

Thanks for sharing-

Really nice design and execution. The finish work takes it to a whole new level. What finishes did you use? What are the fonts you used for "McCauley" and "Farms"? I think your friend came out on the better end of this exchange!
