Looking for 1911 and Sig P238 gun grip files
Looking for 1911 and Sig P238 gun grip files
I'm looking to purchase files to make grips for the 1911 full size pistol and Sig P238. Does anyone know of a source where the files can be purchased. I have searched the previous threads and the ones found were not suitable for my needs.

I've been think about making some grips for a 1911. I was going to take them off then scan them in the copy/printer and then import them as a bitmap.
Not sure if it will work but worth a try.

I have all the profiles of the grips I need, I just don't have the 3D files...yet.

This is what I've got in Solidworks.

Nice work Pete.

Thanks for the posts. I'm still learning to use Aspire. Seeing a finished model really helps.
Why doesn't anyone offer pre-made Aspire files for sale?..like they offer Vector Art 3D files. I think you guys that are good at drawing in Aspire could start a side business just selling the files.
With gun grips being somewhat of a standard part, I'm suprised nobody sells the files.

No credit for design and manufacture goes to me - someone else posted those a while back on this forum

Re: Looking for 1911 and Sig P238 gun grip files
I made a few sets a while back, various designs.
Attached is a file that has the locations for the counterbores, a layout for checkering, etc.
It also has the lower chamfer cut, which is easier to do than trying to model it.
This is a pair I made by inlaying maple happy dogs (the dog model comes with Aspire)
