Re: guitar building
Check out http://www.ambientcnc.com/ - Alex Navarro's site. He's put together some training videos specific to Aspire. It'll cost you some coin though but then you seem okay with that!

Yes, Alex will send you a link. His site isn't as polished as one might expect but then he's not trying to be fancy. Good luck...nasrace10 wrote:not sure how to download them I guess

Re: guitar building
A lot of the links on the site are dead. Did you get the files and videos? Were they worth it?
I have been using VCarve and then Aspire to make guitars for a while. Might improve my skill by getting tutorials.
Thanks

Re: guitar building
The most challenging part of modelling a guitar in any software is going to be the neck. So my recommendation is to consider anyone promoting/selling training videos that they also provide a video tutorial on the neck!
That said YouTube does have some bits and pieces like this http://youtu.be/f38EcZAPl4I

Re: guitar building
My solution for that was to finish one neck by hand and then get it laser-scanned into an STL file. The most challenging part of modelling a guitar in any software is going to be the neck. Re: guitar building
model the neck. port orford cedar works very well for this. do a profile build and be sure to have the vertical grain at the top where the finger board will go. This will have to be a 3d build also i recommend using mountain mahogany for the finger board and tuning pegs. Good luck!
