Import problem

Post by Phil »

When I import the v3m file into VCarve is it supposed to have the screen image from Vector Art 3D Machinist? The imported image I get looks like a screen capture. I was expecting a grey scale image of the 3D carving.

Am I the only one having this problem?

Post a screen shot... that'll help figure your problem.

Yes Paco,

when I import the v3m file into VCarve the entire scren shot is being displayed. I think I should just get the image of the item to be carved. I shouldn't see the menus and toolbars.

Here is an example of the image I get when I import a v3M file into VCarve. Shouldn't I just get the 3D rope image in grey scale? What do I do with the part of the image I don't need or want?

Phil,

After creating your toolpath, are you saving the tool path at the #7 screen and then saving the file itself? File. Save As. filename.v3m And then in VCarve Importing the filename.v3m file into your project?

Just a thought.

Did it all from scratch. Attached is the image imported into VCarve. I double checked, I am saving it as a v3M file as Les said.

Hi Phil,

That is trully bizare and certainly isn't what you should be getting. What operating system are you using and what version of VCarve Pro and Vectro Art 3D Machinist ?

Regards

Brian

Glad to see I haven't gone crazy, or maybe that's a premature assumption. Any how, I'm running Windows XP, VCarve 3.102, 3D Machinist 1.007
