When I import my file from Cut3d

Post by Greasetattoo »

Hey James,

Working in VcarvePro, I am importing my file from Cut3d.
Everytime I import the model, it always is way far away from my workpiece.
Any idea?

See the attached pictures..

thanks

Check your units, size and position in Cut3D (particularly the position relative to XYZ) as it should come in wherever you set the part up in Cut3D. The process we use for converting our files uses metric units and the centre of the part as XY-zero and I think that when you first open them in Cut3D this throws them into an odd position in space. If you set the datum position to be lower left or middle zero then toolpath it I think it should be OK.
Cheers,
James

Thanks James...

Yes, I use inches. So I think that may be the problem.
Wasn't really a problem, though...
I just re-centered the object!

Also, thanks for the quickness!
