3D MESH LINE ARTWORK

Post by Westridge999 »

I've seen on here people showing where they have created 3D Mesh type pictures that have been engraved on acrylic and side lit. I have searched all over the internet to find
software that can convert pictures to 3D Mesh but cannot not find. Can anyone help me with software. NOT LOOKING FOR JUST ARTWORK. Need to be able to convert pictures
to 3D Mesh artwork. HELP PLEASE ! ! ! For clarification, I'm trying to make side lit acrylic with picture engraved on front. The ones I have always seen have numerous splines
engraved giving the appearance of 3D. Thanks in advance for anyone's prompt attention

I believe those come from actual 3D models.
I don't think any software exists to create those from pictures.

Ger21 is correct those come from 3d models they are actually mesh vertices. There is one software that will do them from a solid model. Blender (freeware) but it has quite a steep learning curve. 3bee studios has a ton of these type images for purchase.

Tall order, steep learning curve for sure. People spend hours and days making those things, they are like a skeleton that are skinned and turned into models.

I went on a wire frame edge lit kick some years back, thread was pretty interesting and evolved into general edge lit designs, methods and sources viewtopic.php?f=19&t=17065 ,,, Still like that pitbull.

Thank Doug,
That particular thread has been a go to for me on edge lits for sure. I have kind of slowed down on them now but still do the occasional one as the mood hits me.
