Stepover settings - what we learned

Post by Rcnewcomb »

Just to try and compare machine time vs. hand finishing we tried one carving with a n 1/8" bit but a large stepover (25%) on the finish. We wanted to see if we could clean up by hand quicker than taking the extra maching time with a smaller stepover.

Our conclusion is that, for our shop and for our customers, we are better off with a smaller stepover.
