Something I always wondered - Does using the contrast adjust slider affect the actual cut or just the view of the pic in the software ?
Almost seems pointless is a way, adjusting it from 0 to 100% has no effect that I can see.

Re: contrast
You mean the greyscale or Bitmap properties slider?
I use the slider frequently for visual aid on bitmaps particularly (usually fading them a little to make manual vector tracing easier to see).
Does not affect actual carving at all. Purely a visual aid is all.

Re: contrast
Sorry, X-ray! I just noticed your post is for PhotoVCarve!!
I believe the contrast slider DOES affect the carving depths (darker is deeper - contrast between light and dark can enhance overall detail from shallow to deep). So it is both visual AND functional for the Carve.
Apologies. I'll try to pay closer attention in the future!

Re: contrast
I found an old PhotoVCarve video tutorial where Tony briefly mentions and shows the use of the Contrast Slider at about 3:50 minutes in.
Here is the link:

Re: contrast
Thanks Mike.
Maybe I need glasses but I can't tell a whit of difference visually from low setting to high, maybe certain pics are prone to do this.
