Map suggestions

Post by mservis »

Hi, I am making the map attached, using a 0.0625 bn bit. I am concerned that the bit is to big for the detail.

For example where there are lanes in the road the bit may eat into the lane divider.

Should I use a different bit? engraving bit?

Suggestions please.

Hi: Definatly use a v bit. An engraving bit of maybe 22.5 degrees and watch the depth. Try a sample portion of the map to verify you've got the proper depth. Norm

Maybe an Onsrud 30degree engraving, with either a .005" or .01" flat would give it to you?
Try plugging one in at 20% stepover and see how preview looks when importing/viewing at a high res.
These were done that way and just a good stiff brushing with no sanding was involved.
Didn't see how big it was, so you'll have to preview.
