Here is a picture of my first try at a lithophane with PhotoVcarve

(Picture taken with no flash)

This is a graduation Present for my neice.

It is 16" x 13" oval of a scanned picture.

the overall frame is 21" x 18" in size

This is cut into 1/4" corian also. I did many hours of research before attempting this. The first attempt turned out better than I could have hoped for. The pictures just do not do these justice. thanks for all the help and information to get this completed on time.

Dave,

All I can say is WOW, Fantastic job. When does the lithophane classes start? taking enrollment yet?
How deep is your light box. Maybe another image or two from the side and back??

The detail on that is unreal.. Great Job.

Don

Maybe I'll be as good as he is.

Dave, that is outstanding!
I would really like to give this a go but I haven't located any material yet. Can you share the details of the cut. What bit did you use...What were your settings in PhotoVC? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

This is a first class litho. Wonderful job on both the litho and frame! I'd say you have this down perfect on the first attempt! What are your specs for the light box if I may ask?

:o

Off my chair!

Awesome!

Great work Dave!

When I first got Photo V Varve as BETA, I thought it was a "toy" (to me) but you, and other users too, prove the opposite!

Admit that the model is inspiring!

I too am in awe that a first attempt can come out so excellent. Beautiful layout on the frame.
Now if I can only straighten out after bowing!! :D

The price makes you think that this is a basic program. The results tell a very different story. I am wanting to get the Vcarve next to incorporate the two together.

Thanks for all the kind words.

Here is the photo that I used to make this.

The light box is 4" deep and I painted the inside with gloss white paint to add to the lighting. I tried many different lights for this but ended up using a flourecent bulb inside.

Perry,
Something like this might be fitting for your "Special Project" . A perfct tribute to the fallen officer.
