Hello, I am happy to see that you had an obviously good result with your first carving. I cannot say the same thing for myself. As of today I have had no success with carving a photo, either one of mine or one of the tutorials. I only get scratches in the red oak that I use. Could you tell me what your setting were (depth and line spacing) that produced these two photo's? Thanking you in advance for your reply.

Thanks for the picture. Looks great! What catches my attention is the amount of fine detail. I have been doing a lot of small engraving and from what I have seen so far cutting really fine detail with a v-carve bit can be a challenge sometimes. I have been wanting to try that technique. If you don't mind my asking, what was the dimensions of your image and how long did it take to complete? What type of bit did you use?
