Piranha post processor

Postby Notbusdrvr » Mon Nov 23, 2015 5:21 pm

Is anyone with a Piranha using photovcarve? If so, which post processor are you selecting in PVC for your machine file?

Nextwave automation does not have one posted on their download site.

Thanks

I used the Shark post processor the first time I made a litho on the Piranha using PVC. It worked fine. Now there are several different pps listed in VCarve Pro for the Piranha. When I updated the control panel software, the new post processors appeared in VCarve Pro.

When you used the shark PP, were you running on a shark CNC? I am using a Piranha. New Wave Automation told me to load their regular PP into PVC, and it results in an error message.

For the time being the only way I can move my PVC projects to the CNC is to import them into Vcarve.

PhotoVCarve is a much older program than VCarve so some of the features in a VCarve PP aren't supported by PhotoVCarve and will result in errors. Easiest thing to do is to edit the PP and remove the sections that are being flagged in the error messages.

At that time, I used the Shark post processor to operate the Piranha.
Since then Piranha post processors have been made available.
I recently used the Piranha post processor to make a 3D carving with a friends Piranha.

I also save pvc files to VCarve Pro so that I can add text to the file. I now just prefer transferring PVC files to VCP.
