Silly question really, but I have 2 cnc machines. One uses the extension .cnc or .tap, the other uses NCStudio .nc. both work in my VCarve latest version.
Now I know that the PP's aren't all the same so can anyone suggest how to add or which to use as a PP for PhotoVCarve for either of these machines?
Thanks
Rob

If you can't fix it with a hammer you've got an electrical problem !

There is a list of Post Processors in PVC.
You just choose the one that is suitable for your machine.

It's not the extension that matters so much as what the controller software is. Use the Post Processor that matches that.
Mach3, for instance, can load files with txt, tap and other extensions but if they're not in the right format the extension is meaningless.

Re: 2 x Post Processors and adding into PhotoVCarve
A suggestion if you edit a post processor for you machine(s): I have one CNC (Shapeoko2) and I've been using VCarve Desktop and PhotoVCarve. I use the GCode_Inch PP but modified it for each software.
For VCarve, I changed it like this:
POST_NAME = "SO2-09_GCode_inch(VC)"
FILE_EXTENSION = "vc.nc"
For PVC, I changed it like this:
POST_NAME = "SO2-09_GCode_inch(PVC)"
FILE_EXTENSION = "pvc.nc"
When using two machines with the same software, you could have two versions of the PP, each defining an extension for a particular machine.
I also added spindle start (M3) in the header. Spindle stop (M5) and program end (M30) were placed in the footer.
