new to photo vcarve

hello i would really appreciate some help please.

i am new to photo vcarve and cnc. the problem i am having is that when the cutter is cutting the photo i am just getting lines on the image and no detail. :?

the cnc i have is a 6040Z

that is because the photo is carved into the substrate using those lines. You have to build in some contrast to make the photo stand out. Dark stain into the grooves will help.

hello thanks for your advise. once the cnc has finished you carnt even see any of the image surely you would be able to see something before you stain the photo.

What does the preview look like? Bit more detail or a picture of what you have carved would help a lot, often easier for the more experienced guys to help if they have more to go on. Could be down to a few things but a couple of things that might cause a problem would be not setting the z zero accurately enough & not ensuring that the work piece is perfectly flat. Sure one of the experts will be able to give you better advice if you can provide a bit more detail.
