You can use opal acrylic for lithophanes & cut with a ball nose bit same as in corian & same thickness substrate but the results aren't likely to be as good especially if you are new to this. Acrylic is not the easiest of substrates to machine can take quite a bit of time to get speeds, feeds, depth of cut etc sorted for your particular machine, biggest issue is the acrlic melting & rewelding itself after it has been cut. You really should be looking to get started carving corian as others have suggested.
