For .25 I'd go .21, need very accurate setting of Z or you'll punch through.

I like result as thin as possible so often I'll run the back across a belt sander after its done to safely and quickly get the model down to maximum depth. Of course, you can still break through using a sander if you are not careful, pay close attention to the whitest, deepest areas.

I use 0. 25 thick Corian and leave 0.030 remaining bottom thickness, working with Z0 on the bottom of the material (top of the spoilboard) make it easy.

I do the same as Mick. Here is an example with .14 model height and .030 gap below model.

Amazing detail on this litho. Are you using Aspire after the tap is generated in PhotoVcarve to set the gap and clearance?

I only use Aspire and I cut these with a v-bit. Prepping the photo before bringing it into Aspire is most of the work. The material i have is imported and a more opaque than corian. This lets me get more contrast in the photo. Using a very light coat of shellac on the back i can tone the image however i want.

Here are a few more examples. The picture of the two faces is a comparison to glacier white corian (on the left) and photographed side by side on an LED panel. These are just over 4x3 inches. The second picture is about a 2 inch crop showing the detail. The picture of the kids is an 8x10 (6x8 picture size) framed with led light panel.

If anyone is interested in the material or led panels just send me a message.

I purchased the material from China which required a minimum order of 40 sheets. It is 1/4 inch thick and cuts like corian. There is no US supplier, but feel free to contact me if you are interested in some.

Molechaser, you're not using PhotoVCarve for any part of these lithos, right? Just want to be sure as I don't have Aspire nor plan to purchase that program. Detail is really great on your examples, thanks for sharing them.
