Easy Toolpath Joiner Gadget

Post by jimandi5000 »

Hello All,

I hope each of you are having a super day.

I have posed a new gadget called the Easy Toolpath Joiner Gadget.

How it is used:
The Gadget is designed for the 4th axis. If you wanted to mill two (2) patterns, one on each side of a blank. Design the patterns on on each sheet or two sided job. Create a Ruffing toolpath for each design using the same bit. Open the gadget and configuring the Gadget Settings menu for your CNC mill. Select the top ruffing toolpath as the "Header" file. Select bottom ruffing toolpath as the "Footer" file. For the "Output" file select the folder and enter the file name and file extension. Now enter 180.0 in the rotation amount. Press OK.

The output file will contain the Header file to one line above where the Spindle is turned off. The 4th Axis code will be inserted and the Footer file will contain the G-Code from one line after the Spindle is turned on.

Running the toolpath, the mill will cut the ruffing top design then move the spindle out of the way, turn the 4th axis until the material is 180 deg., then return to cut the second design ruffing toolpath on the back of the material. All non-stop and without you needing to load the second g-code file.

Do the same setup for the finish toolpaths.

Note:This gadget is not for everyone:
1. You need a strong working understanding of you CNC,
2. You need to know the G-Code your mill uses
3. You need a 4th axis on your CNC.
