What is the significance of the blue color as opposed tothe yellow color seen during the calculation of tool paths? I know they signify the process of calculation, but what does the difference in color mean?

And why does the progress line complete its journey to the right and then begin anew?

I just installed the upgrade to Aspire 8 and downloaded gadgets from the library. I notice a quite number of the older ones only will import into version 4.5, which already has them (such as the dado, fluter, gear maker, job backup, spiral, square round, tangents and valence gadgets). Will these be updated?

According to a recent post from Vectric all the gadgets were updated to install to V8. It's does sound like the 3rd party developed ones (the dado and job backup are mine, the others are Ryan's) haven't been updated though. Unfortunately it's only Vectric that can update the installers so hopefully they will be updated soon.

Since I haven't uninstalled ver. 4.5 (it's a separate folder, so keeping until sure the new version is fully operational), some gadgets will show both on installation, with options to uncheck either one. However, those I listed do not show ver. 8 as an option at all. I've also sent this inquiry to Vectric support.

Hello all,
I was wondering about tilling. If I cut the pieces and than glue them in, how well would this stay if each piece is about 18" long and at least 13" wide and the total would be 5' long? I was thinking about gluing a same size thin piece underneath to make it stable, but the edges would be hard to cut by itself to make one long piece. So actually if I didn't do that my question is really- how stable would this be if no wood is put underneath and just glued on the sides without warping?
Thank you for your patience and my silly question if this makes since.

What material?
How thick are the pieces?

opps
Cedar or Maple depends on the thickness. I just want to test this out before I do an actual one. :)

Could you please run over a few of the 'timelines' regarding features on the site? I have friends using Vectric that I'd like to communicate with but can't "search" for any other users. I've also been sent a "direct message" from a user I'm assuming is a contact but I'm "not authorized" to use this feature.

Is there a validation process to confirm who I am to speed this up? Not being able to read messages sent to me, post replies to them or find other piers is making it difficult to communicate with other users, which is why I signed up in the first place.

Thanks for any information in advance

board is acting up. Where to send a message to webmaster

Post by nicksilva »

Hello., I couldn't find anywhere to send a message to someone responsible for the board so I'm sending it here.
I am trying to upload an attachment. First it gave a messages that said I had reached my limit when I did the ADD.
Now, it just acts like it's loading then goes to blank page.

Please consider adding a button to send a message to the webmaster or at least post who to email.
thanks.

So I have looked everywhere I can think of but where is this "A Support Contact forum" that is mentioned in the first post? If it is this forum, then one is already here and will just go around in circles.
The "Post a reply" button is meaningless if one wants to ask a new question, not reply to one already there, so we need a "post a new question" button.
We really need an "About this forum" button where everything concerning the forum is explained, instead of having to search the complete forum to find whether a question has been asked before.
e.g.
What do the ratings mean and how do you get them? I know it depends on how many posts one has made but how many for each rating?
Who is what in Vectric?
How can you contact the moderator?
What kind of files can be attaches and what is the maximum size. At the moment one has to go through the process of posting before being told the file is too bit or the .xxx is not allowed.
When can you receive and send PMs? That is a question that is asked often but never answered.
If new members cannot send or receive PMs, then it should be explained more clearly and there should be a "Contact a member" button.
Searching through the members' register is time consuming as it is now, searching through joining dates instead of alphabetical.

There is a link to "View more smilies" but when you click, you get exactly the same as is there already, so it is superfluous.
That's what I can think of just now :)
Cheers
Wolffie
