Happy New Year - great start: My first cnc-project

Post by capnl »

Hello to all on this Vectric Forum,

Happy New Year to all of you a year hopefully filled with all kinds of cnc (Vectric) projects.

I have made my first VCarve projects.

1st is a engraving of a logo of a local videoclub, they needed something to put on an award for "best video of 2008"

With VCarve's possibility to create vectors from a color picture I created the base of the engravement, with node-editing I perfected the lines of the Island's outlines as well as the lines of the movie-board.
Engraving is done with an industrial diamond pointed drag bit in a brass plate.

I created

The logo outline measures just 42 x 30 mm ( 1 inch is 25.4 mm )

Also for another local club I engraved the winners' names of an anual competition (sadly I won myself over 10 years agoo......)

The individual plates measure 40 mm high by 90 mm wide

I have created some more items in wood wich I will try to machine this week,
I'll be more than happy to share the reuslts.

Vectric software does it for me, I hope to upgrade to Aspire within a few weeks !!

Greetings from Zuidland,
The Netherlands
