The 3d base model is one of the $10 models from www.VectorArt3d.com and the toolpaths were created in the free VectorArt 3d Machinist package and then imported into VCarve Pro to add the v-carved text and simulated.

Playing around with VA3D Machinist
I've just been playing around with making it easier to overlay VCarving over models from VA3D Machinist and thought people might like the attached image (particularly Jay - dighsx). Now you know where we think you are coming from Jay
