Jay, thank you and yes that old Super Pac Man still works. I was a Space Invaders guy myself.

Dave, as they say if it isn't broken don't fix it. Eventually I will be getting a new machine but right now this baby just keeps on ticking.

Other than having to re-calibrate every now and then it is amazing the detail this machine can do.
When I get a chance I will put up some examples of work done on this old girl.

It would take three days of cleaning for me to post a picture of my prt 96 next to Dave's.

What are the holes in the machine bed? Is it a clamping system? Also what's your cutting area? Machine looks nice and clean.
Take it easy.

Nice machine Kevin,
I like the clean design,.....it looks like a rack and pinion...it that right?
Where are the x and y motors located?

Hey Kevin, that's a nice looking cnc you have. I like the framing on it too. Makes it look 'machined' and I bet it was an easy one to assemble.

How old is it?

Should have put a description along with my picture post. The holes in the table are for a clamping system that I wanted to try, It works great and I use the clamps or double sided tape on everything I have cut so far. Dimensions are 48"x 96" acually it can travel a tad more in either axis. It is a rack and pinion setup and the servos are hidden in the picuture by the carriage. Have had the machine a few months now.

Ok if I have the picture thing figured out a picture of the clamps will be below.

Here is No. 2 of 3

Built Circa 1987 by Industrial Electronics Ltd. Cambridgeshire UK.(No longer trading)
Model, Opticut.
Table size, 10'x5'
Twin Perske spindles + 4 Auxillaries,
Vacuum pod hold down.
North East Electronics PNC4 control. (Needs to be updated.)

Machine is in working order but due to having purchesed a more modern, versitile machine, this one is no longer used. (Seems a real shame.)

If anyone is interested in acquiring this one, for a small donation, it is available.
I am not trying to sell this machine but if any VCarve Pro user can find a use for it I am willing to let it go.

Regards,
Warren.
