Hopefully my router will be finished being put together in 2 weeks or so, but what I plan on using to set the height is a planer gage. You can set it to just about any height you want VERY quickly. Here is a link to one on eBAY: http://cgi.ebay.com/MACHINIST-TOOLS-VER ... dZViewItem
You can just put somethong flat on top of your workpiece, slide the gage up, and lock it in place. Then just bring down your bit while off until you feel a slight drag and your tools will be all set EXACTLY the same.

Thanks for the tips. All good reading. As for leveling the table. I just toss in a 3/4" end mill and run a file that made that simply cuts the entire surface. Jog around and find your lowest spot. Use that measurement and cut the entire surface flat.
