3d Eagle

Postby wb9tpg » Fri Jul 26, 2019 3:26 am

Just finished this Eagle today. The STL file came from Vitale Diaconu as part of my Club-A subscription and I can’t share it so don’t ask. The picture doesn’t do it justice.

It’s Mahogany and finished with General Finishes Seal-A-Cell. It’s about 11.5 inches tall. Took about 5 hours total carving including the roughing pass on a Shapeoko 3 HDZ. The Gcode was generated from Vcarve Pro with roughing and finishing tool paths. Vcarve Pro did a nice job for me!

Very nice. And I don't think anyone on here would ask you for a copy. We all know the license restrictions with 3D art. I to am just getting into 3D carving. It was my main goal when I got my machine. But I wanted to learn as much with basic carving before I started getting into 3D.

I really like the post and must say you did a nice job with
the wood selection and the finish. I can think of alot of
things the model could be used for, very nice.
thanks for posting I enjoy seeing what people are doing.

Nice work.
For future reference, IMO not very good form to post something in a forum like this and assume people are going to be leeching off you. Most here are semi or full professional, likely already have more 3D eagle models than you can shake a stick at, and are well aware that they don't grow on trees.
If the doubtful situation arose of someone asking you to share, simply post the link for purchase.
