I wonder if I would need a different bit to carve the Corafoam ?

Foam is easier to carve than wood. I'll let the sign guys respond regarding feeds and speeds since I only cut small pieces of foam board.

If you need more practice material at a lower price you can use the pink or blue foam boards for the big box stores such as Home Depot. It is available in thicknesses up to 2". ->Link

A few points on cutting EPS foam to add to Randall's post.

There is a FOAMULAR "green" version which doesn't cut well at all. The surface feels brittle. It really tears out when cut.

Perhaps not from a big-box store but you can get 4" thick EPS (see image).

Onsrud (there are other cutter manufacturers) makes a bit that is great for cutting EPS. https://www.onsrud.com/Products/52554.asp It evacuates "chips" exceptionally.

When 3D cutting, static builds up. Ground yourself before touching the final object or you'll look like you were dumped in a blue or pink snow-drift.

Wiping everything with a dryer sheet helps with static, but pink dust does seem to collect everywhere.

A couple of years ago I did a large panel with 2 inch foam. Two bags of "chips". Put it out for garbage a few days later.

I just happened to be looking when the G man grabbed the bag, shook it a few times and then turned it upside down to shake it into the truck. Why he did that I will never know. . . .there was a breeze. . . . . I called the Head Shed and they sent out a cleanup crew.
