Made this as a gift for a friends wedding next January. Modeled it similar to one I saw on Facebook.

Very nice. Did you mask then cut then paint or did you cut then paint then sand? What degree v-bit did you use?

Hand paint with acrylic and wipe off the rest with a damp rag. The entire surface had several layers of Shellac before I painted.

60 degree Whiteside V-Bit. The font is Edwardian Script with Bold setting on. The Block Letter was originally Goudy.

The most difficult part was issues with the Vectors. Both those fonts have tons of errors and overlaps. You must "Convert to Curves" all the fonts and then fix the errors, adjust the spacing manually (for Edwardian Script) and then Weld the characters together. Then "Check Vectors" 10 million times and fix the errors.

I've a template file I'll upload that has the entire Goudy Alphabet already converted and Fixed with each letter on its own layer. The template still needs some finishing touches.

I wish a Gadget allowed me to replace the contents of a Text Box. That would allow me to build a gadget to automate some of the process.

Enjoy.

Hello,

I found the Goudy alphabet as SVG here:
https://openclipart.org/collection/coll ... oran/10842

I just checked one svg file. No import problem with Aspire 9.5 trial, but the vector validator found 20 overlaps and 4 intersections.

These files don't look bad, but need fixing some issues too.

The file I uploaded has the entire Goudy alphabet fixed and each letter on a separate layer. Just use the layer you need.

Sorry, I read too quickly your post and just noticed "still needs some finishing touches". But this was for the template and not for the letters which are fixed.

Thanks for the file!

Sure they will be delighted with it, something to hold on to & pass down in time

I am guessing that you have tt versions of both these fonts & not the paid for commercial versions, think I have them both but not on this omputer, goudy is an adobe font & although I don't think I have used it with the CNC (could be wrong) I have certainly used it with a vinyl plotter & there are no problems with it what so ever that I can remember.
I have a lot of licensed Abobe fonts which lucky for me work with both my signmaking software & Vectric software & don't think I have had problems with any of them when it comes to cutting on a plotter, same think will apply to using them for CNC work

Great Work really like the design and finish. A very personal gift. One question is the floral block and letter at the left part of the template or is it added in from the clipart library??

It's part of the characters in that font.
