Elephant Jewelry Box

Post by wb9tpg »

My first attempt at 3d carving using Vcarve Desktop with the Safari #1 Pack purchased from the Design & Make store. Not too bad for my first attempt. I still need to flock the inside and install the magnets. Box is cherry and 5" diameter.

Lookin’ good! Did you use a 1/8” Ballnose? Thank you for showing us the photos! Super-good job for your first 3D carve!

TIP: If the model has more detail than what is shown on your carving, a smaller Ballnose would render that detail when carved. I typically use a 1/16” Ballnose if model detail warrants it.

I used a Whiteside SC64 which is a 1/16"D tapered bullnose. I used a 1/4 EM to rough it out and I really need to get a 1/4" ball nose.

Wow!!!!

What a great idea. We really love that you choose the Elephant model for the top of the box.

Fantastic... and keep up the great work!
