Free Project: Garden Four in a Row

Post by RebeccaJ »

Hey Everyone!
This month’s project I have recreated a garden version of all time classic, Connect Four! A two player game based on dropping coloured counters down a seven column, six row grid, and to win the game you need to connect four of your counters colours vertically, horizontally or diagonally.
So I thought I’d try this out but make it a little bigger to go in the garden!
This is a slot together project with fairly simple toolpaths, it’s quick to cut and easy to assemble, and ultimately fun to play too!
The video walks through the software, the machining of the part, where I failed in my design initially  and how I resolved it!
You can download the project from your V&Co account: https://release.vectric.com/four-in-a-row/
If you create your own version we’d love you to post it here on the forum!
I hope you like it!
Happy Making!

If I can get past the replacement legs for a concrete garden bench I'll look at making one of these as well as other projects that have been posted here. All I have to say is I'll need someone to dab ointment on my sand gnat and mosquito bites if I play this game outside. Lol. Thank you for another project.

Hello Rebecca,

I do not have access to a CNC that large 48" by 96" so I have taken the liberty of scaling your file down for use on my CNC machine which can handle 24" by 48" sheets which creates a Four in a Row
Game Project with the following dimensions (overall a bit smaller):
Mine Yours
Wide: 34.6" 46.1" Wide
High: 27.6" 36.8" High
Leg Base: 6.5" Wide by 27.6" High 8.75" Wide by 36.8" High
Acrylic Counter Circles: 3.75" Diameter 5.0" Diameter

I will post here a photo of the completed project when it is completed.
