Flip style display pen box

I make bolt action style pens using deer antler as the body of the pen and wanted a nice display box to showcase them, and this is what I came up with. The box goes from a closed storage box to an open display box and I engraved a deer head into it, filled with coffee grounds, soaked with CA glue, sanded smooth. Wasn't sure if I could get the head small enough to fit on the box, but came out really nice. The box is roughly 2 3/4" wide and 6 1/2" long. Wood is Cherry with Deft finish.

I like both of those. Love that you use coffee grounds for fill. That's one of my favorites for that use. I haven't turned any pens in quite some time but remember turning deer antler and how much it stunk. They were always very impressive and great gifts. Thank you for sharing.

Very nice, love the box. The pen is beautiful. I hadn't thought about a pen box, I now have a new project to work on

That is one of the finest Pen Boxes I have seen to date! It took some time to figure out the flip. Wonderful idea!
