Hi: Don't feel alone about cheap buyers. Here in Marion County Florida I can only half or less what I've been able to get in Colorado.

Nice work, thanks for sharing.
Did you machine the distressed edges and cracks also or free hand that?
And we also have cheap buyers in our area of Texas also.

This is less about your local market that your marketing strategy and product selection. I have 2 different sets of clientele with different needs. The broader group I sell a ton of $20 items to at a Farmers Market, and my commission furniture business, where a $650 chair or a $2000 table is not out of the question. I didn't start there, but had to learn how to price and market my work. I still sell 100's of the $20 items every month, but the commission work really makes things nice.newmexico wrote:

I try to bill my machine time at $100 an hour, the $20 items take 10min at most per item, then i have a little time to finish them. If it takes longer than 10 min on the machine I dont charge more, because ill sell less of them and have product sitting, ill either find a way to reduce the machine time, or not make the item.
Id rather have a fast nickle than a slow dime
Nice work though

I like the work. I guess I need to play around with the milk paints a little more.
Costing..Most folks have no idea of the effort that it takes to make some items or the cost of hardwood; but sometimes it is not always the money. A smile,a very sincere thanks and admiration of your work goes a long way.
Again very work.

Yes, we machined the edges and wood effects. That helps add a bit of pizazz and pop to the piece. One person thought we had used old barn wood.
