Hi,
I'm getting frustrated, so I thought I'd ask for some advice from the brains trust here...
I'm trying to make some Christmas Tree ornaments where the person's name remains and most of the surrounding wood has been cut away. I realise this shouldn't be overly difficult, but I've reached an intellectual impasse here (there's a less polite term I like to use, but basically, I'm stumped).
Does anyone have a simple explanation on how to do something like this? I'm using the latest version V Carve.
Any suggestions at all would be gratefully accepted.

You might look into using the "weld" and "clip" tools as well as node editing.
You need some way to combine the letters to the outside of the ornament, including parts of letters that are separate.

You have to turn the text into curves before you can weld them together or add them to a base.

Many many thanks for those hints. I’ll have another try (and continue hunting through the manual).
You folk have a merry Christmas and I look forward to seeing some more creations.

David.
