Plate Easel - stand

Post by Turtle49 »

This is the third iteration of my plate easel. It is 7/16" thick and made from three pieces. You can use it for decorative plates, platters...Ipads etc. It will set on a flat surface or hang on the wall.

I have thought I would offer it to anybody that wanted it. The toolpaths are setup, but obviously I do not take any responsibility for anything that happens if you cut it. You are responsible for checking all the settings prior to using it!

Thanks a lot Tim,

have downloaded to cut later. My biggest problem is lack of imagination and laziness.

Thanks again
Roger.

Hey Norm,
The corian should work fine. The only suggestion I have, is the slot is inset from the back of the legs far enough to accommodate the round over bit I used. You may want to consider sliding the enlarged pocket (for the 1/2" corian) forward and keeping that edge. But even if you didn't it should still probably work.

Good luck, and post your results.

Thanks Tim for the plate easel file. I’m new to the CNC world so I’m trying to do as many things as I can to learn as fast and much as I can. Your work is fantastic to say the least.

I was wondering if I could scale up the easel from 7.5 inches to say about 9 inches. Is there a method of doing that with ease? I tried the offset Vectors method but it scales in all directions and I think I would want to scale the length and not the width so much. I also made the back piece bottom a little wider to make it a little less tippy when placing a larger item on it. It’s not quite a pretty but seems to work better.

Thanks again for all your posts.
Mark

I would have to say that there isn't a real easy way of doing what you would like. To increase the height while maintaining the width, you would have to change the angle on the tenons that are incorporated into the back piece.

Good luck,
Tim
