3D Rugby Box in memory of Dad

Post by Scoobyblue555 »

I made this 3D Rugby ball shaped box in memory of my Dad former Rugby Union captain of Otley RUFC and Yorkshire RUFC player. Made two versions one not stained the other stained, The wood I used was Redwood Pine, the stained version I managed to engrave on top of the 3D model from clip art in the software Vectric Pro 8.5,pleased with the result, The stain i used was medium oak, now that i am getting my head around the software and the machine will try on more exotic woods.
More posts to follow now that i have figured out how to reduce the size of my picture attachments. :D

Very nice, Scooby.

I've not heard of Redwood Pine before. Thank you for showing us the photos.

The wood is a Scandinavian Pine, when i buy it from my local timber supplier they call it Redwood 5th's, it is cheap to buy that is what i have been practising my designs on till i get better and buy more expensive wood/s.

mtylerfl...
European Redwood (Pinus sylvestris) sold in the UK, and grown in Scandinavia you would know it as Scots Pine. 5th's quality grade - you would know as No2 Common.

Scooby... the rugby ball box looks great.

Sincerely
Martin
