A birth memento

Post by Gaffboat »

My niece had a baby the other day and it seemed like a good excuse to make something to memorialize the event so I carved this from a scrap of 1 x 12 cypress.

The rose is from Design & Make’s “Rose Tiles -Broken -No. 1” project file. The heart vectors were drawn in V Carve. Text and the chamfer on the edges were done with a 60º V bit while the rose was carved with a 1/8” ball nose bit. A quick little 45 minute project that made a simple but memorable gift.

Very nice, beautiful finish. Kind of subtle until I start thinking about the pale rose color in the heart, then it becomes more artistic and skilled...joe

Really nice. I have a grand child coming, is it possible to get your crv file for this? I would like to see how you did this.

Thanks
