Garden sign

Made this from 3/4" PVC lumber from Home Depot, painted with acrylic paint from Walmart.
Approx 13" diameter.

Nice 'n Neat!

I don't recall seeing any PVC "lumber" at my local Home Depot that is wide enough to make a 13" diameter sign like yours. Did you use two pieces and glue them together?

The widest I recall was 6" at my HD.

PVC is available in 1 x 2, 4, 6 ,8, 10, 12. Also special order 48 x 96 (about $200/sht.) It glues up well with PVC glue, you can use the same glue as for PVC plumbing pipe. It carves and takes paint very well.

I used the clear PVC glue/solvent to assemble the two layers of 0.75"x6" PVC for the Neptune Soap Dish project awhile back. It does work great. Took the metal acrylic paints very well, too.

I'll inquire at my Home Depot about ordering some wider stock for me.

My local store sells many different sizes and thicknesses. For my sign I bought a 3/4" 2'X4' sheet for about $30.00. They also have various size sheets in 1/4" & 1/2".
I have noticed that not all Home Depot stores in my area have it.

So I have not used PVC on my CNC yet, but in my past life as a contractor I used it quite a bit as trim. It was a absolute mess to mill with a saw or router. How is it on a CNC machine?

It can be clingy. Some folks say wiping everything with dryer sheets helps reduce static cling

I use Sprayon SP610. I spray the PVC, collet/bit area and even a little inside the business end of the vacuum hose.

I've had no issues with pvc dust or chips clinging to anything. For me chip/dust control is same as wood. I do use dust control as I carve. Have no experience carving PVC 3D models.
